    My research interests lie at the intersection of sports, journalism, culture, and politics. My work has been published in top journals in journalism and sports media and presented at various conferences.

  • Teaching

    I teach courses in sports communication and journalism at DePaul. I strive to both prepare students for successful careers while pushing them to be conscientious consumers and producers of media.

  • Service

    I’m an active member of many academic and professional journalism organizations. At DePaul, I serve as the advisor to the college’s award-winning NAHJ Student Chapter.

My research interests

My research focuses on the intersection of sports, media, culture, and identity, including journalism ideology and practice, stereotypes in the media, and coverage of social and political issues.

My work has been presented at international conferences and published in top peer-reviewed journals such as Journalism Studies, Feminist Media Studies, Newspaper Research Journal, and Journalism & Mass Communication Quarterly.
